What will happen if we never turn off the computer?

Im using windows Xp and i seldom turn off the pc (sometimes almost 2/3 days )because i have 24/7 connection ,Im always on Irc(i dunt want to disconnect).Sometimes my hardisk become so hot,im wondering wether it will blown up someday if i continue to torture my pc-is there any better way to get online without causing my pc becoming xtremely hot?Do not answer me by telling me to use dedicated server or shell-Thanx a lot .

1. add more fans get a better heat sync liquid cooling systems are available but i havent had the chance to check any of them out yet.
2. Well; you're wasting heaps of electricity to start with. But make sure that you're fan's working properly and is dust free. Make sure that you're not running things like SETI or resource heavy background applications. Otherwise, the PC should all be good. As for you however, this doesn't sound like healthy behaviour and that you're addicted to your machine. Something that may need some attention.
3. welll you are actually not suppose to turn off your computer because rebooting the computer iis bad.. so I put my computer to sleep.. so leaving you computer on 247 shouldn't make youer computer hot you might want to go get it checked out there could be something else wrong with it... b.c I leavemy computer on its always on
4. room temp shud not exceed from 20 degree
5. it will become less efficient like us if we will never sleep although it is machine......
6. If you leave your computer on all the time and then suddenly turn it off, you run the risk of causing a riff or permanent tear in the fabric of this present space-time continuum. All life and matter- indeed, the entire universe and all existence (including time) as we know it, would suddenly and violently implode into itself. Everything that IS would suddenly be NOT. I did it once and it's very embarrassing. It also tends to piss people off. You will have a lot of apologizing to do. Please be very careful. Wear safety glasses in case the universe explodes. .
7. Start the Fans Please!! yeah will get hot, put some fans in your box, try to get the ones which are not noisey LOL
8. You're house could burn, cause you're computer could overheat, and you are wasting electricity.
9. I leave my on all the time also. I believe the heat coming from your computer, helps keep your energy bill down. In the long run we are beating the utility companies.
