Is a server tax deductible as a work expense?

I work for a computer company doing support on servers, if i buy a server so i can learn and try things for work is that a work related expense that is deductible?

  2. Not unless your employer requires you to buy it as a condition of your employment, and will not reimburse you for it. I'd guess that's pretty unlikely.
