Your Server

Will I have issued having Windows XP, Vista and 2003 Server on the same hard drive?

I had Windows XP Professional and I installed Vista on the same hard drive on a different partition. I noticed the boot up option to choose which operating system to load is different. I now need to install Server 2003 to practice. I need to know if I will have issues. Don't want to buy a second hard drive because I only want to dedicate 10 gb of space to 2003

  1. You will have no issues
  2. you need to create another partition to put server 03 on and you should be good after that
  3. Theretically it's possible if you have any available partitions, but this is really where I would use virtualization software. Both VMWare GSX server and MS Virtual PC are free.
  4. They all are Microsoft OS and shouldn't have any problem as they all will share same boot.ini file and once the any windows is loaded at startup its completely isolated from the rest of windows. But try not to mess in C:\ Drive as it contains boot loader, will mess up all other Windows ..
  5. As said, they can work on a single drive.
