Is it safe to delete compress old files from Windows Small Business Server 2003?

This is done while using Disk Cleanup. Just not sure if its safe to do on a server...

1. You are mixing up two things: the deletion of files and the compression of old files. There is no option in Disk Cleanup to delete compressed old files, you misread that. Compressing old files is not advised on any computer system, no matter if it is a client or server. Instead add extra storage if you require it or simply delete all stored files which are no longer required. Compressing files will slow down a computer system, especially if these compressed files are on a server and accessed from a client over the network.
