Windows live mail, cannot send emails?

For whatever reason, I cannot SEND email through Windows Live Mail. This is what I use to send and receive emails. Interestingly, it works fine at my house that I'm selling (I have Verizon FIOS)... however I'm staying at my inlaws now, and had to set up a cisco lyncsys wireless router to use my computer here. Whenever I am at my inlaws, I cannot SEND email through Windows Mail. I can receive them though! When I try to send messages, it says: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re:' Server: 'smtp.comcast.net' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E Protocol: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10060 It works fine, at my other home. However, I'm closing on that house tomorrow, so I will be here at this house, and need to get this to work. Anyone have any ideas?? I actually don't have comcast at all. I used to have comcast, and still have email through them. My house that the email works at has Verizon FIOS. My inlaws are with Verizon, but my fatherin law is hard wired to the modem. They don't have wireless. So I bought a wireless router and am working wirelessly off his modems signal. So do I still need change the smtp? I'm confused. Thanks!

  1. You're trying to send your mail through an SMTP server whose service you';re not connected to. If you're connected to Comcast at your inlaws' you'll have to change the program to use Comcast's SMTP server. (POP3, incoming email, doesn't care where you're coming from, only that your login and password are correct.)
