Script Problem/Image Upload Problem?

Okay so I have a Penny Auction script and I used to be with JustHost.com and the script worked fine there, it was just slow. So I moved to my own dedicated server and now when I try to upload images or use the automatic text editor in the script it doesn't work properly. It is the same EXACT script. The text editor randomly adds \ when I type a " or a ', and the images just don't upload at all. So what this tells me is the server installs (Programs installed on the server) is causing the problem. So I think they have a program or application installed on their server that I don't have and the application I don't have is causing the problem. Therefore my question does anybody know a server install that would fix this problem or deals with this kind of problem? Or if anyone has any other solutions it would be greatly appreciated. -Thanks! 1. Navigate to your php.ini and set magic_quotes_gpc to "off."
2. Magic_quotes is deprecated which means it will be removed as of PHP6, not very good to rely on, I think. You should use the function "stripslashes". $var = stripslashes($var);
