How do i create a server using Windows server 2000 ?
I am trying to create a dedicated server for a certain website that used to run on a server before. I am planning to use Windows server 2000 to create the same. I should be able to create a server, place all the ASP pages and publish them. This way i should have a dedicated server running for this particular website because it is a travel survey website, it has a database in the back end that collects data which i intend to use for my research.

- An FTP server won't help you. You need a web server. For ASP pages you need IIS. It should be installed with your Windows Server 2000 setup. I don't recommend using your home server to host a page though. It can be really slow, and you probably don't have the support needed incase something goes down or even to host multiple hits to the site. I use my home computers as testing and development servers then post to a dedicated server that I rent from another company. You can get shared space for very cheap and it can be easy to customize. Plus great companies will save you headaches with their support.
- Send money and I'll do it for you.
- windows 2000 server with service pack 4 atleat . IIS server (for web pages) mysql (if your database is in mysql) .net if your site uses them frontpage extenstion (if site is made in frontpage, with data base connectivity database used is access)
