Dedicated Server (Windows Server 2003)?

I have a Dedicated server, with very high download speeds, and high specs. How do I host webpages from it?

  1. Install IIS(Internet Information Services), this will allow you to host Web as well as FTP sites, after you install IIS you can open the IIS snap-in that will allow you to define Web and FTP sites.
  2. or you could install linux and use apache to host may sites..
  3. You can install IIS on windows 2003 server, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998483.aspx also http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323972 and http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Web-Sites-Windows-2003.html This shoudl get you going.
  4. You should have control panel software that will let you add domains and set those up. Your host should have given you instructions, did they not?
