How do i start a Counter Strike: Source Dedicated Server?

I bought the CSS CD about 6 months ago. On the steam platform i went to tools and downloaded "Source Dedicated Server" and i ran it. Now how do i join it? I cant see it in the "Find Servers" in Counter Strike Source. If i cant see it then probably no one can. A little help please?

1. i don't kno but pm me when you play css, we can own up some people, i play jail maps, normal maps, iceworld maps
2. to connect to it you need to find your ip. http://www.whatsmyip.org/ . the port should be 27105. thats what it is for all css servers. but most likely your going to have to open up ports so that other people can play on it that arent on the same lan as you. if you want to do that , i think you can do that here http://portforward.com/ , but if you can then just go here http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+open+ports+for+counter+strike+source . if you want people to be able to find your server on the list, all you have to do is run a steam update, which should happen automatically. After all this you should be able to have other people connect to your super awesome new server! but if you try and play on the same machine that you are hosting the server at you will be really really REALLY REALLY laggy, and the server would be really laggy. There are almost no hackers (never can get rid of all of them) . And all the people that play are very friendly :p .
