Your Server

How do I build/run a gaming server? Linux? CPU? Ram?

I'm just getting my feet wet with PC gaming and I'm looking to build a gaming server with some spare parts lying around the house... AMD 1700+, 512mb ram, 40 gig hard drive, high speed cable connection. I would prefer to use a linux OS(suse) so I woundn't have to pay for windows. I'm not looking to build anything superior, just something to run dedicated servers for Half Life, Counter Strike, and Halo(not all at the same time). Is this possible with this hardware? If not, what would I need? 1. You'll need more RAM, espcially if you want many people on. Do you have a static IP? If not, then you'll need a dynamic dns software from sites such as http://www.dyndns.com/. But why bother with a server. If it is just your friends, use hamachi (http://www.hamachi.cc/)
