I bought myself a dedicated server. How do I learn how to use it.?

1. You probably need to give more details. What do you want to use the server for ( Web, local file server ) ? What operating system does it have ? Are you learning it to become a support engineer or just for personal use? Nige

3. Are you hosting it yourself or is this a colo server? If someone is simply hosting it for you then they should be the ones to answer your question. My question is who suggested you purchase a dedicated server without knowing what you are going to use it for. Unless your company needed a lot of bandwidth or space this shouldn't have been required. I think you are using the term "dedicated server" incorrectly. Are you sure that you didn't purchase just a hosted solution? If this is the case you need to set up an FTP account on your local computer so you can access the server. There are lots of FTP programs out there just Google that term. You should have gotten a welcome letter from them telling you how to set this all up from the hosting company. Once you have access using FTP you need to develop a website for people to use and see.
