Your Server

What would make you want to tip your server more? Especially at a place like Pizza Hut?

I'm trying to get a job as a server at Pizza hut but heard they don't get the best tips. But I want to be a server for a while but only find jobs that want experienced servers. So I'm planning on using this job to get some serving experience(hopefully I can take working there for at least 6 months). Also has anybody ever worked at Pizza Hut? Please give advice. Thanks!

  1. If they were pleasant and attentive, I would tip.
  2. if you want to get good tips, you should be polite and respectful and don't return to there table to ask them how the food is more than one time. its pizza hut how do you think the food is! some people like me don't like servers that do that.
  3. Be attentive. If your restaurant has free refills and you see an empty glass, bring over a refill before the customer asks. Be knowledgeable about the different menu items. Smile and be overly pleasant.
  4. I used to waitress at Pizza Hut, and now I own a pizza restaurant. I have worked in customer service for 14 years. One thing that is really annoying is when you seat the customers and have given them menus, and you are back to their table in 30 seconds and ask them if they are ready to order. Wait for most of the party to put down the menus before you go back. If the customer feels rushed, they won't have time to browse the menu. If they don't have enough time, they won't order as much. IE: if they have an extra minute, they might order an order of wings also. Don't wait too long though. Then they will think you are ignoring them and they aren't important. Wait for them to get into their pizza before you go back. Most people don't like to talk to you while they are enjoying their pizza. Wait until their drinks are less than half full to refill. Always make eye contact and SMILE. Don't ever rush through anything, or they will think you are rude. Any little gesture that shows annoyance will be noticed by the customer. Treat them like they are your best friend and you are trying to make everything the BEST that it can be, without being over them the whole time. It takes practice.....GOOD LUCK!
  5. I agree with the person from a previous answer....Don't keep going to the table and asking how everything is going...That really gets on my nerves. Just be kind and refill their drinks. Example of not getting drinks refilled: Went to wing night at a resturant had some very HOT wings, and no one ever came back t refill my drink...lol
