Your Server

Game hosting help!!!!!?

This is for pc btw. For some reason I cannot host a server in Left 4 Dead nor Killing Floor. I tried everything. Im thinking its probably because I'm using wireless internet which I am trying to get my parents to hook my pc up to the modem. In Left 4 Dead I can get a game running for like 3 mins and then server crash, but most of the time it doesn't even go into a game, just loads back to the main menu. In Killing Floor its the same thing. Please help. (Btw my friend is also having this problem but he doesn't live in the same area as me so I don't think its the town xD ) This problem has happened when there was nobody playing. I started the game the second that it came out because I had it preloaded on steam. So then I tried hosting it with my friends that live not even 5miles away it still didn't work. But yea I considered the issue of too many ppl. Same with killing floor. I was one of the first to play it and I still had issues. It's probably having something to do with that this is not the main pc and the server tries connecting to the other pc which is not playing hte game so it crashes. That's my theory.

  1. Do consider the fact that there a lots of people who play these games. Finding a stable server to play in could be difficult as there will be lots of 'traffic'(exchanging of data) so please do be patient when trying to find a server. I don't think that using wireless internet would have any negative effects at all, I use wireless and my online games in Left 4 Dead are perfectly normal. No lag at all. Also, if you are planning on playing with people who live somewhere else, lets say another country, the server will not function very well as you will be playing over a fair distance. It's better off to play in a game with people who live quite near. If you are playing with people quite near, then the connection will be much more stable.
