outlook or outlook express won't even send, we get this error: ...Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.5.0 <'xx@xx.com'> malformed address: '> may not follow <'xx@xx.com', Port: 587 using webmail the email goes through, it took 11 minutes though. our internet provider is comcast, and we use comcast to send mail through outlook/outlook express. email address were sending to is correct, i wish it was that simple.

  1. It looks like there's a typo in the email address. It's hard to tell from the way you've anonymized the log entry. Did you actually type the email address with those ' symbols?
  2. Here is what the smtp error message 550 5.5.0 is telling you: A mail server will reply to every request a client (such as your email program) makes with a return code. This code consists of three numbers. For example, 550, 221, 354, etc. 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (E.g., mailbox not found, no access) Either that email address no longer exists or perhaps the mailbox is full and can no longer accept any new messages.
