Where can I find good online resources for installing and configuring a LINUX file server?
It is getting costly to just keep purchasing external USB drives, so I would like to install LINUX on an old PC and use it as a file server. As I understand it, to do this I need to install both LINUX and SAMBA so that my WinXP workstations can access the files, but I am having trouble locating a comprehensive resource (or resources) on how to set up this arrangement.

- If you are looking for a good resource checkout the following website. www.linux.org You should also find information on various distros available. I have a linux box at home myself, being used as a file archival server. I personally use Mandriva, however I have also previously used PC Linux OS and Debian. All worked fine, however I found Mandriva simple to use and configure. Of course if you are looking from something advanced, please checkout the weblink above.
