How do i configure gmail smtp server for my local php server..?

1. Free internet email such as Yahoo and Gmail can be configured with your local but then you do have to pay by upgrading! You can not do it for free. And, the only way you can do that is if Gmail offers it. I do it with my Ymail (they offer the upgrade) and I configure it to outlook but I have to pay $20 a year to do it. I also have it configured to my Incredimail. That's the REAL reason why I'm willing to pay for it.
2. gmail smtp server is free , but why are want to use gmail smtp server? u can make a smtp server just with a bit socketprograming use fsockopen & such functions (portnum = 25) & send your emails
