Gmail for PPC Dell Axim?

I have a brand new Dell Axim x50v with Outlook Express 2007. Not being able to use Yahoo! for it without paying, I have made myself a Gmail address. I have tried to set it up multiple times using my email address, and everything needed. Here are my steps. 1. I have entered my name, email, and password. 2. I have enabled POP3 settings on gmail and have verified that it is a POP3 account. 3. My incoming mail server is pop.gmail.com:995 and my outgoing server is smtp.gmail.com:587. SSL is enabled and so is outgoing authentication. And when I finish and try to receive mail, I get this. "Unable to identify the incoming mail server. Verify that the server name is correct, then try again to send and receive email." What's the matter? I tried giving a new port, and still nothing. I get the same error message when I try both of those techniques.

1. Disable the SSL connection for incoming mail server. If you have a problem with outgoing mail server try changing the port to 465.
