I can't send mail or a page using outlook express. Can you help me??

I can't send mail or send a page and it comes up saying this.""""The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'Mail', Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"""" I've gone into outlook/accounts/connections, but not sure what words need to be typed in there....like POP3 or stmp. Can anyone help me? I have comcast broadband. I can send email using yahoo and can recieve email, but can send a page or anything through outlook.

  1. It is likely you cannot use the SMTP address provided by Yahoo. In this case, contact your internet provider and get THEIR smtp IP number (it looks like 123.456.78.90) and enter it in your OE settings for your Yahoo account. I had to do this with my account and it worked like a charm.
  2. Add all your contact to your Yahoo! Address Book and to outlook express,then you can send your page to anywhere as usual Socket errors and protocol related problems are related to your windows networking,network adapter,proper SNMP installation with 'core funtionality' and 'message queing',IIS settings and are related with your networking of your server or workplace.Not easy to diagnose those from here!
