550 550 relaying denied (state 14)?

Please help. I see there have been a few similar queries over the last few days, but none answered that I can see. I have had this account for 5 years, other than that's it's slow, I rarely have problems. Since last Tuesday about a 3rd of my incoming mails are being rejected. Those trying to mail me, get the following: Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 relaying denied for <XXXXXXX> (state 14). ----- Original message ----- Received: by 10.110.5.18 with SMTP id 18mr510565tie.11.1227956087019; Sat, 29 Nov 2008 02:54:47 -0800 (PST) Return-Path: <XXXXXXgmail.com> Received: from AngiePC (XXXXXX]) by mx.google.com with ESMTPS id i6sm6139278tid.5.2008.11.29.02.54.44 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=RC4-MD5); Sat, 29 Nov 2008 02:54:45 -0800 (PST) From: "XXXX" <XXXXXX> To: <XXXX> Subject: FW: Delivery Status Notification (Failure) Date: Sat, 29 Nov 2008 18:54:38 +0800 Message-ID: <02a001c95210$e1c63ef0$a552bcd0$@com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Microsoft Office Outlook 12.0 Thread-Index: AclRxpAdffXHsWOfSl+B7C8UFFGx6wASklkA Content-Language: en-sg x-cr-hashedpuzzle: Ad6k AlsQ AtDS A2f7 A+s6 B6mo DvGv Dxk0 EsGh Ftgw GcIK HQtd HaA3 ITCn IeR7 KOWd;1;bABhAG8AdABzAGUAcwBhAGMAawBlAHIAQAB5AGEAaABvAG8ALgBzAGUA;Sosha1_v1;7; {71278F74-D4D3-4CF9-B0A5-AEBBA92F2C36};YQBuAGcAaQBlAGYAbQBAAGcAbQBhAGkAbAAuA GMAbwBtAA==;Sat, 29 Nov 2008 10:54:35 GMT;RgBXADoAIABEAGUAbABpAHYAZQByAHkAIABTAHQAYQB0AHUAcwAgAE4AbwB0AGkAZgBpAGMA YQB0AGkAbwBuACAAKABGAGEAaQBsAHUAcgBlACkA x-cr-puzzleid: {71278F74-D4D3-4CF9-B0A5-AEBBA92F2C36}

  1. I guess we have the same problem. Had it for a couple of days. See this link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081130020111AAlxi5l Regards, Øyvind Sørheim Norway
  2. Same problem here, when i try to mail to my yahoo.se account i sometimes get sundelinpeter@yahoo.se mta124.mail.ukl.yahoo.com #550 relaying denied for <sundelinpeter@yahoo.se> ##
  3. I discovered exact the same problem with my yahoo.se adress yesterday. I've tryed with sending mails from other mail accounts and other computers. It's totally random, one minute it's working next minute the mails are coming back. I've sent two mails to Yahoo but no answer yet.
  4. The same problem here. My email was down yesterday and then worked temporarily during the night between Sunday and Monday before it went down again. Wrote Yahoo yesterday but no replies what so ever and it is still impossible to send emails to my Yahoo address. X-Postfix; host mx1.mail.eu.yahoo.com[217.12.11.64] said: 550 relaying denied
  5. Same problem here ("550 relaying denied for..."). Seems like there is something wrong with the yahoo.se mail server since around last week. Sometimes incoming messages are received, sometimes they disappear. Yesterday I sent 4-5 consecutive test emails from the same address to my yahoo email and some of them went through some not. I tried again today with a similar test, but this time all of them disappeared! That's quite bad since people can be missing emails like verifications to applications, shopping orders, etc. I hope yahoo is aware of the problem and is working on it...
  6. Same here, with a .no domain... What's happening Yahoo? Please give us some info on this! update: thanks for the info autisten and Trond E!
  7. I'm having the same problem - my address is a @yahoo.dk. I have written to them 3 times now since Friday and despite the "you will hear back from us within the next 24 hours with an answer" I still haven't heard from them. Getting quite frustrated since I'm using my email for work as well...
  8. I have the Problen 2 Days,no answer from yahoo. Greece
  9. I have the same problem. Some mail bounces (error 550). No help from Yahoo (4 days since i wrote to them). This is annoying!
  10. I have exactly the sam probelm with yahoo.dk mail. Seems like there are quite a few of us now with same problem. SO hope that someone at Yahoo will pick this up and fix it! We are all losing important mail so they need to restore all the messages that have been sent.
  11. same here in greece! i have just emailed yahoo. i hope they will answer and solve OUR problem..........
  12. I'm beginning to wonder if Yahoo is still in business or if they have begun to shut its operations down. 4 days with email not working. No sign of life from helpdesk, if there is one. This is the case for me on .se anyway. Are there anyone who knows if it happens to be a place where Yahoo informs about their problems or what they are doing about it. Perhaps that is too much to ask for?
  13. Ditto here (yahoo.ie address). Problem for about 8-10 days now, contacted support about a week ago, no response. You'd think they'd post something, somewhere acknowledging the issue. I've lost shopping order e-mails, ebay mails, mails from work, mails from friends. People should jump ship to Gmail if this goes on any longer. Poor show by Yahoo.
  14. Hi, Same here (Yahoo.ie) 550 relaying denied. No reply from yahoo yet. Very annoying as I was awaiting delivery status and response to questions for online Christmas shopping.
  15. Same here - e-mails seems to disappear randomly. I have tried to send e-mails to myself to test this - some are received, others are returned with an error message like the one above, and the rest disappear with no error notice at all. I hope this will be solved soon - I have also sent an e-mail to Yahoo!, but no reply so far...
  16. I did a little deeper investigation on this issue and here is what I came up with: It is clear that Yahoo europe has a problem with one of their email servers. Let's first find out what the servers are for Europe: (I use yahoo.dk in this test) host -t mx yahoo.dk yahoo.dk mail is handled by 10 mx1.mail.eu.yahoo.com. yahoo.dk mail is handled by 10 mx2.mail.eu.yahoo.com. This shows us that there are two servers and they both have the same preference level (10). Okay, let us see if there is an error with server 1: telnet mx1.mail.eu.yahoo.com 25 Trying 217.12.11.64... Connected to mx1.mail.eu.yahoo.com. Escape character is '^]'. 220 mta145.mail.ukl.yahoo.com ESMTP YSmtp service ready HELO mail.test.dk 250 mta145.mail.ukl.yahoo.com MAIL from:<jesper@test.dk> 250 sender <jesper@test.dk> ok RCPT TO:<autisten@yahoo.dk> 550 relaying denied for autisten@yahoo.dk Relaying denied, so clearly there is an issue with this server. Let's check server 2: telnet mx2.mail.eu.yahoo.com 25 Trying 77.238.177.142... Connected to mx2.mail.eu.yahoo.com. Escape character is '^]'. 220 mta128.mail.ird.yahoo.com ESMTP YSmtp service ready HELO mail.test.dk 250 mta128.mail.ird.yahoo.com MAIL FROM:<jesper@test.dk> 250 sender <jesper@test.dk> ok RCPT TO:<autisten@yahoo.dk> 250 recipient <autisten@yahoo.dk> Aha! Server 2 will accept our emails for yahoo.dk. This explains why the error is random. When mail is delivered to server 1, it fails. But if it goes through server 2 it will get delivered. Only quesion that remains: Who will fix it? /Jesper
  17. I called Yahoo Technology Norway today, they are however not the one dealing with emails, but they said they became aware of the problem today and had brought it further to Yahoo mail in U.S which was currently working on the problem... so if they are as smart as the one above they might correct server 1 soon :)
  18. I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one having this problem! I discovered it a couple of days ago and it's extremely frustrating not knowing if you're going to get all the emails that are being sent to you. I really really hope that Yahoo fixes it soon or else I'm going to switch to Gmail...
  19. Same here in Greece. To my Yahoo email, i am propably a creep spammer when I send to it from my Gmail! I noticed that if you add my banned gmail address to my contacts the mail is delivered smoothly.
