SSL for sub-domain pointed at another website?

There is a site “site1.com” hosted on “server-1” with a dedicated IP address and SSL certificate. Now another website “site2.com” hosted on another server “server-2” has pointed their sub domain “sub.site2.com” at “site1.com” IP address and now “sub.site2.com” also loads site1.com. Now how do I install another SSL certificate for this sub-domain “sub.site2.com” so that https://sub.site2.com works? Shall I assign one more IP address to site1.com and then ask site2.com owners to point their sub.site2.com at the second new IP address. Then I purchase an SSL for this second IP address? Please suggest another possible solution(s) to this issue? Thanks much. Vicky
