Hosting game server on a dynamic ip?

So I made a pretty nice server in SAMP (San Andreas Multiplayer) and when i tried to host it using my ip address (The one from a website like whatsmyip.com) and it was not found. Later I installed no-ip because I learned that you need something like this if you have a dynamic ip. So I filled that all out with the same ip address. No result. Last I tried to unblock my windows firewall but still no result. Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong? Or is it simply impossible to host a SAMP server on a dynamic IP? Thanks in advance, EDIT: I have a Belkin router if that helps. EDIT: I have announce on in the cnfg file in the SAMP server and I can easily go on it from my own computer byt typing in :777

  1. With my experience, you need a static ip address. If you have Comcast you can buy one for like 5.00 per month or something like that. Besides if you use a dyanamic ip, you will have to change the ip address every so often days. depending on your isp, otherwise you will a server that will go down till you fix it.
  2. Did you forward the ports in your router that the game uses? If port forwarding is new to you, this site will have instructions for each brand/model of router: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
