I want to change my computer into dedicated server?

I want to change my computer into dedicated server. i want for my personal use not for public , need only for sending newsletters, that's possible ? If yes, please tell me.

1. ubuntu servers software i would think should do the trick. it is worth a shot
2. create only local user
3. to much details to tell you hear. for news letter, you will write, or past togther you info and send it out automatic. I would start with some brand of linux, and got to linux.org for a procedure how to do that. you will be looking under mail exchange for this . good luck
