1. I had trouble setting my windows mail up as well. Here is one thing I found out that is not so clear. Click on tools>accounts>mail account>properties>Servers. Now where is says user name, you have to enter your full email address not just your user name. I had checked my over many times and knew I had everything entered correctly. However that entry was not clear since it says username and not full email address. Hope that helps you get it running.
