Non-Yahoo SMTP gateway?

We have our own domain with its own SMTP gateway, but since we switched from Insight cable to AT&T/Y! DSL, we can't send outbound mail with our gateway. I presume that Y! is blocking access to the server. We can, however, receive just fine from the domain, and my gmail account works great. If I use the gmail smtp server with my other domain's email, it gets marked as being from gmail (of course) which isn't what I want -- I want the messages split up. So, what do we do? Will the AT&T/Y! smtp server work for us, do we switch away from our domain home of the past 7 years and use gmail or Y! mail, or is there another way? THANKS in advance. Vic

  1. You can often request that they unblock your account. Many ISP's do this. Some of my clients have had this problem with connecting to their hosted SMTP servers. What I did was to add a secondary port for them to connect to that was NOT blocked. Check your SMTP server documentaion on how to do this. You WILL have to update your settings in your email clients to reflect the new port
