I added an alternate adress for sending mail from comcast primary server?

Now I need tp knw that with my primary server they require me to use smtp or smpt whichever to receive my email I only seen when I rewegistered for my mail to come to Yahoo that they only asked for my POP. Am I able to receive as well as send. If so Please advise on how to do it? thanks a bunch

1. What email client (program) are you using? I am not sure what you are asking, but to clarify PoP is the incoming server, and smtp is the outgoing (or relay). Generally, if you are using Comcast, you can do one of two things (example is with Yahoo), you can use yahoo PoP and yahoo SMTP server, or you can use Yahoo PoP and Comcast SMTP. If you clarify a bit as to what you are trying to do you may get more help. Thanks.
