I can recieve messages but not send messages using outlook (using a comcast email)?

I've been using comcast in my outlook for about 3 years now, and then all of a sudden I couldnt send any emails out. I keep getting this error message: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Course Policies', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E How do I fix it?? Please help!

  1. They may have blocked it. Big companies are stupid in that they often don't care about customer usability in how they run their services, they consider their beneifits over the customers more often than not, especially when the customer is powerless to do anything. Either ask them to trouble shoot it with you or switch your provider
  2. Hi there I recently had the same problem with my mail server. I do not know if you are on : Dial up, Dsl /Cable , broadband. But you need to call your internet provider, they will help you re-adjust the incoming and outgoing server. Hope this helps. Good luck to you
