Your Server

I cannot send messages to yahoo users from an e-mail client like OutlookExpress?

my server (postfix) log looks like this: ... relay=none, delay=30, status=deferred (connect to yahoo.com[216.109.112.135]: server dropped connection without sending the initial SMTP greeting) I can send email to other addresses like somebody@server.com except Yahoo mail and gmail. I have an e-mail server of my own (a linux box with postfix) all e-mail messages from my home network are send by this server. All my e-mails are reaching their destinations exept those sent to yahoo or gmail users.

  1. You have to setup your outlook. Outlook runs off of a server. So find out what the server settings are for yahoo. ie; yahoo.mail.com and SMTP.yahoo.com and then you can send and receive. go to Tools up at the top in your Outlook. Then select accounts, pick the account and select properties. In properties you can set up the server information.
  2. Maybe some settings on your ISP side may cause this problem
