- Ummm this is not a simple question. If you have a raw windows 2003 box exposed to the internet you are asking for trouble. My very serious advice is get some training. For experimentation purposes you can enable Web and FTP on a 2003 box by going to control panel then Add Remove Windows Components. I am doing this from memory if I am correct you choose application server and then choose to install IIS. Look in the sub-components of IIS to ensure that FTP server is enabled. I stress again there is a lot to know about security on the internet, so please do not attach this box directly to the net. teef_au
- I agree with teef_au, it is not an easy thing to do. Here is a step by step guide that should help but you have to be very careful as Windows 2003 has a lot of security problems... Here is a 4 part series on setting up hosting, ftp, and DNS: http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=405516 that should help, thanks, Ben
