Does dedicated server help in increase the page rank?

I am confused over whether a dedicated IP helps increase the page rank. Does anybody know more about dedicated server and the importance about it.

1. A dedicated server does noting for page rank or SEO. It is just allows you with full access to the server as opposed to a shared hosting plan that is very limited
2. Dedicated IP does not help Page Rank. One server can hold many sites. GoDaddy rents shared server space. Many servers can hold one site. Yahoo! uses many servers for their site. A Dedicated server will commit all of its resources to the site sitting on it, if you share a server and suddenly someone on the same server has a million downloads, your preformance will be impacted. Page rank is determined by a lot of things, including how many sites point to you. If al of the sites pointing to you are on the same server you will have less of a value than sites on other servers, and other hosts.
