Has anyone been successful connecting a vista ultimate computer to a small business server 2003 system?

Yes. The standard practice is: 1. Create a computer account on the server by running the wizard. 2. From the Vista box, open a web browser and do the http://servername/connect computer. Shouldn't be a problem. If it is, then delete the computer account and manually join the Vista box to the domain.
