SMTP server POP mail (Comcast.net) stopped working!? I used to be able to receive (POP3), and send (SMTP) e-mails with OE when I use my laptop at work. But since my company was acquired by another, Outlook Express SMTP server (Send only), Yahoo IM, AOL IM, all stopped working! I can receive e-mails just fine but can not send. Tried many SMTP ports, no help. When I use my work laptop at home (Use my ISP network), it works fine. However, when I connect from home but then run VPN to access work drives, once again SMTP send fails! Is there a way to get around this "blocking" of the SMTP server? Is it possible that this is some Firewall settings that I can not access? A
How do I find out what my SMTP server is? I'm trying to set up a .Mac account, and when I tried to send an email it told me I had the wrong SMTP server. I know how to change which outgoing server I want to use, but I don't actually know what my server is. Is it determined by my Internet connection? I get it through Comcast, and I have an AirPort Extreme router...so how do I find out exactly what it is?
SMTP Server That Doesn't Suck? ? SMTP That Doesn't Suck? When I'm at home, I use the Comcast SMTP and that works well. You can't use that when you're traveling though. At work or when traveling, I use the SMTP from my GoDaddy.com hosting account. That server sucks. Slow, unreliable. I've written to them numerous times to tell them so, and jumped through their trouble shooting hoops (despite having previously verified the settings myself). They tell me it's fine. Anyway, I used to be able to connect to a secure SMTP from my college, but I no longer have that account. I tried using the SMTP from my .Mac account (I have it for iphoto and for calendar sync reasons) but don't use it for email. It doesn't want to let me relay email through it from my hosted site account. Anywhere I can get a secure SSL, reliable SMTP accessible on various networks?
Cannot send email using Comcast and Thunderbird!!? It gives me this error message! Send Message Error Sending of message failed. This is my second account on thunderbird..

Windows live mail, cannot send emails? For whatever reason, I cannot SEND email through Windows Live Mail. This is what I use to send and receive emails. Interestingly, it works fine at my house that I'm selling (I have Verizon FIOS)... however I'm staying at my inlaws now, and had to set up a cisco lyncsys wireless router to use my computer here. Whenever I am at my inlaws, I cannot SEND email through Windows Mail. I can receive them though! When I try to send messages, it says: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re:' Server: 'smtp.comcast.net' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E Protocol: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10060 It works fine, at my other home. However, I'm closing on that house tomorrow, so I will be here at this house, and need to get this to work. Anyone have any ideas?? I actually don't have comcast at all. I used to have comcast, and still have email through them. My house that the email works at has Verizon FIOS. My inlaws are with Verizon, but my fatherin law is hard wired to the modem. They don't have wireless. So I bought a wireless router and am working wirelessly off his modems signal. So do I still need change the smtp? I'm confused. Thanks!
