What setting and/or port do I use for my out going smtp server? Upon accessing my mail program I get a pop-up messsage advising that the server smtp1.mail.com on port 25 has timed out and my previous attempt to send mail was rejected. My mail.com administrator suggests using the following outgoing server smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com. This has not remedied the problem. My mail.com administrator also recommended that I use port 587, however this did not work for me either. I can receive e-mail but can not reply or get a new message to be sent out. I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic and now I can go into Windows Mail and I can send and receive emails like I normally do on yahoo. My brother today got a new eMachines laptop from best buy now and I tried putting in the exact information from my toshiba into that eMacine. When I tried to send an email myself though after I clicked the Send and Receive button, it shows it almost fully loading and then it says there's a problem connecting to the smtp server which is on there and my Toshiba laptop smtp.att.yahoo.com . What are the POP & SMTP Servers & PORTS for Yahoo only (using Outlook), not SBCglobal-Yahoo? I could use all necessary settings for using MS Outlook, especially if I must set it up as an IMAPI, because I've never set one of those up before?

What am I doing wrong with my mail server? I have a server with Windows Server 2008, wAMP, and hMailServer installed. I am trying to configure my server to be able to handle (send) emails. Because my ISP blocks port 25 and requires authentication to use their server, i am using hMailServer to handle those. In PHP.ini I have my SMTP server set to local host and port 25. (this sends messages to hMailServer) In hMailServer I have my domain listed and a standard "webmaster@fototopo.com" account. Under SMTP settings (for hMailServer), I have the local server set to localhost, and the SMTP relay to smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com (with authentication information) When I send an email from my webpage, the email will appear in hMailServer's queue for a few moments, then disappear. However, when i check the email i was having it send to, nothing was sent. I have error reporting turned on for everything on my server, and I do not get any errors. I have no idea why this is happening. I got everything to work at one point (continually, over and over again), but then i made some major server and domain changes and now i can't seem to get it back to normal. The problem may be hmailserver, if anyone has anny suggestions for a good mail server for windows that would be greatly appreciated. it needs to support SMTP relay however. Suddenly SMTP not working? I've had an sbcglobal.net email account for awhile. Our POP addresses (we have three computers set up with three different email addreses) reflect, for example, a gmail or an earthlink account, but the outgoing server was set up with smtp.sbcglobal.net. We've had no problems for years. Now, suddenly all three of us are having issues sending emails. Sometimes they go through, but more often than not I get an error message stating: "An error occured while sending mail. The mail server responded: From: address not verified; see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again." I go there to follow the steps listed and get to the part where it says "now on the verify screen, click to verify your address," and I'm not given that screen. I am not given the option to verify my address. It acts as if it already is. Yet I still get this error message. What on earth is going on?

Outlook won't send sbcglobal.net emails? I got a new laptop and setup my sbcglobal.net email addressed to be accessed from outlook. I used the same POP and SMTP addresses as my other computer which works fine - pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com (also tried sbcglobal in place of att). I got it to work for a few minutes by changing the outgoing server to 25 but it's not long lived. i sent a couple of emails out but tried again about 5 minutes later and it's stuck in the inbox again. Any advice is appreciated! ETA: I'm on Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. I did select the "my outgoing server requires authentication" box. I think it might have to do with the fact that I have the account on two computers - both of which were open because I then got the error on the computer which has been setup for years. Email send problem on Yahoo and iPhone? I can't get my email to send on my iPhone. I have a yahoo account with an @sbcglobal.net. This comes with my AT&T dsl service. When I set up the email account on the iPhone using the Add Account/YMail option everything works well and I can get validated. I can also receive mail. However I CANNOT send mail. The iPhone goes through the normal motions of sending and I hear the sound of mail being sent. However the mail is not actually sent. I've checked this with numerous email addresses and it just doesn't work. I've seen answers here where the suggestion is to make sure your name is entered exactly as it is listed on my Yahoo account. I've done that too and it still doesn't work. I can get it to work if I activate the account via the Add Account/Other option and enter in the pop and smtp mail servers. However, doing it this way does not allow push email. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Help! I can't access my mac mail since going wireless? I have a mac book pro and just got a D-Link wireless router. I have a dsl sbc yahoo account. Configuring Yahoo email in outlook, error 80042110, POP3? I have my PC configured to receive Yahoo and SBCglobal e-mail directly to Outlook, it's been working all year until now. I am able to send but not receive - Yahoo Help had me configure new port settings (POP from 110 to 995, and SSL checked), SMTP (from 25 - 465, SSL also checked). The error I receive from Outlook 'receiving reported error, your POP3 server is providing inconsistent information. The number of messages returned by STAT commands does not match the number of items returned by the UIDL or LIST commands. Contact your ISP'. Anyone get this? And fixed it? Email sometimes does not get sent using Outlook and Yahoo? This is really frustrating. I'm using MS Outlook 2003 and have set up several sbcglobal.net accounts that use smtp.att.yahoo.com as the outgoing mail server. Sometimes everything works fine, but sometimes I get an error message saying that Outlook cannot connect to the mail server. If I test the account settings, everything is fine. If I reboot, then usually everything starts working again. But I shouldn't have to do that.
