How do I configure the SMTP outgoing mail server for Yahoo from Mac mail? Suddenly can't send from Mac mail and I am asked to re-enter my password for my outgoing SMTP server:The SMTP server “smtp.mail.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user. Nothing has been changed. Should I reconfigure my outgoing server, smtp.mail.yahoo.com, which was using Server port 587, SSL unchecked and password authentication?

Problem in getting response from yahoo smtp server.? Hi all, I have written a program to validate an email address which communicates with the yahoo smtp server through Tcp connection. Follwing is the code that establishes a tcp connection to one of the Yahoo smtp server. Then it reads the response from the network. TcpClient oConnection = new TcpClient(); try { //Set connection based on load oConnection.SendTimeout = 8000; //Connecting on SMTP port oConnection.Connect(mserver, 25); //Get Stream from Mailserver oStream = oConnection.GetStream(); //Collect Response sResponse = GetData(ref oStream); But the problem is that the yahoo smtp server returns the following error code 553 Mail from 121.243.167.108 not allowed - 5.7.1 [BL23] Connections not accepted from IP addresses on Spamhaus XBL Please let me know how to resolve it.. Thanks Bijaya
How do you change the common name (CN) of the SSL Yahoo smtp server security certificate that Outlook 2003 use? s? This seems to need to be done to correct the following error, after researching the error message: "The common name on the certificate does not match the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the URL that is stored in the certificate.", which generates the following error every time Outlook logs on to the smtp server [i.e., receives mail; it logs onto the outgoing server (smtp.plus.mail.yahoo.com), first when "sending/receiving" mail, or "synchronizing" its local folders with the mail server's outbox and inbox]: "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server?" However, the other email client that I use with the SAME Yahoo smtp server on the same email account from the same computer does not ever generate this error. However, there doesn't appear to be a Yahoo or Outlook certificate stored in the lists of certificates (Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates). Also, clearing the "SSL state" unfortunately does not solve the problem. However, the Yahoo address book Autosync 1.0 utility that synchronizes the calendar and address book data between Outlook folders and Yahoo works correctly, with no error messages. The system date, time, and time zone (GMT -6, Central) are all correct.
Why can't I send emails from Outlook using Yahoo smtp server? This was working on my Windows 2000 system and a previous Windows XP installation but after I reinstalled XP I get the following error message when I try to send an email: Task 'Yahoo - SBConsultants - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections. If SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' I have tried smtp settings: 465, 25 and 587, all with similar results!
Verizon Yahoo SMTP Server? Up until 3 AM on 2/14/07, I was able to access Verizon Yahoo Email via the IncrediMail client. Since then, the outgoing mail server is bouncing logging on. Between Yahoo and Verizon Yahoo and Verizon Yahoo Beta, I now have no idea what is going on. Was there a recent server change? I lost SOME email when I migrated to Vista, so perhaps there was a server announcement. What could the problem be?
Can't access yahoo smtp server from company network.? I understand there is an alternative configuration (using SSH) to configure my mail client (outlook) in order to get around this issue. My company blocks esternal smtp server. Can you help? Thank you. Thank you for the reply. I already subscribe to the service and pay a yearly fee to gain access to POP and SMTP support. The issue is that I can only access the yahoo SMTP server when I am at home. When I am at work (behind a firewall), i can only reach the POP server, but not the SMTP server. My company (as well as many others) block access to external smtp servers. However I heard that there is a work around solution. I think this impacts many people as many companies block external SMTP server. Does anyone out there know of a workaround?
Yahoo Mail :: SMTP Server copy to Webmail Sent Folder like Gmail? Hello... I love Yahoo Mail but is there anything "in the works" for this type of functionality? What it does is when you send an e-mail through Gmail's SMTP server, it will copy it to your Sent folder online. This is the only thing I happen to envy about Gmail over Yahoo Mail, and the closest thing to IMAP I've seen. Any news or word? Thx! I just want to know if this is something that will be added in the future (?).
Is there still a problem with Yahoo's SMTP server? For a whole week now, I have been unable to send emails from Outlook via Yahoo. I can receive, but not send. I've tried all the recommended steps (mainly changing the POP to .com rather than .co.uk) but this does not work for the SMTP part. This is the error message I received when trying to send a test email: "Outlook could not logon to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). The problem could be the server name [I've tried both .co.uk and .com], your server may require authentication [I've tried both with and without], or your server may not support SSL [ditto]." Please can anyone help? Thank you.
Can I have an AT&T Yahoo sysadmin examine SMTP server smtp106.sbc.mail.ne1.yahoo.com configuration? Not really a question, but since I have an ice-cube's chance in Hell of actually getting through to any intelligent life at Yahoo's "support" department (if any), I figure this might be the best/only place to post this. There's a misconfiguration on one of the load-balanced SMTP servers at Yahoo. When sending mail through smtp.att.yahoo.com, using SSL and authentication, I occasionally connect to this broken server, which produces the following exchange: "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 220 smtp106.sbc.mail.ne1.yahoo.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.14.4/8.14.4; Mon, 14 Mar 2011 09:28:35 -0700 (PDT)" "98.138.31.74""SENT: EHLO mail.xxxxxxxxxx.com" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-smtp106.sbc.mail.ne1.yahoo.com Hello localhost [127.0.0.1], pleased to meet you" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-PIPELINING" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-EXPN" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-VERB" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-8BITMIME" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-SIZE" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-DSN" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-ETRN" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250-DELIVERBY" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 250 HELP" "98.138.31.74""SENT: AUTH LOGIN" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 500 5.5.1 Command unrecognized: "AUTH LOGIN"" "98.138.31.74""SENT: QUIT" "98.138.31.74""RECEIVED: 221 2.0.0 smtp106.sbc.mail.ne1.yahoo.com closing connection" First, notice that the server responds back by implying that it's talking to itself (localhost). That's a problem right there; it seems to be bypassing an authentication proxy and connecting directly to the server, which doesn't use authentication. Second, it's worth noting that about 80% of my sent messages go through just fine (and I have traffic of about 4-5 emails a day, so this is a less-than-once-a-day thing), and they produce this trace: "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 220 smtp102.sbc.mail.gq1.yahoo.com ESMTP" "67.195.15.66" "SENT: EHLO mail.xxxxxxxxxx.com" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 250-smtp102.sbc.mail.gq1.yahoo.com" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN XYMCOOKIE" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 250-PIPELINING" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 250 8BITMIME" "67.195.15.66" "SENT: AUTH LOGIN" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 334 xxxxxxxxxxxx" "67.195.15.66" "SENT: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 334 xxxxxxxxxxxx" "67.195.15.66" "SENT: ***" "67.195.15.66" "RECEIVED: 235 OK, go ahead" ... that's server "smtp102", not "smtp106", which appears to be configured differently (and correctly). This issue occurs like clockwork every time smtp106 is chosen by DNS for my server to connect to (which is configured to use smtp.att.yahoo.com, whereever that resolves to when it queries). Think there's a remote chance that anyone at Yahoo will straighten this out?

Yahoo's SMTP Server? What is the name of yahoo's SMTP Server??? If I want to send mail through SMTP, how do I do it? How do I login to the SMTP Server?
Problems with Yahoo's smtp server? I just moved to Damascus, Syria and have Syriatel as my ISP over a 3G network. I have a Yahoo Plus e-mail account but I am unable to send messages via Outlook. I receive messages fine and I know the problem is with Yahoo's smtp server because I was able to successfully send a test message to my gmail account via their smtp server - thus it isn't an ISP problem. Does anyone have a recommended solution or am I just wasting my $19.99 on a Yahoo e-mail pus account? Thanks for the responses - switching the port from 25 to 587 did the trick. Hopefully it will keep working!
Why does Yahoo's SMTP server keep bouncing my emails? In the last 24 hours, I can't seem to actually send any emails from the apple mail program on my iBook G4. It was completely functional then all of a sudden I can send nothing. I checked all my preferences and they are correct. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?
I am located in China PRC and get error message when trying to use yahoo's SMTP server via outlook Express. I am a mail plus client (I am paying Yahoo for accessing their SMTP service) but Yahoo tells me that the problem rests with the local IP provider that may require connecting to their SMTP servers to prevent SPAM. Does this answer sound right? Why am I paying for mail plus service? Do you know if this problem started when yahoo sold its subsidiary to Alibaba China? Shouldn't Yahoo have guessed that selling their Chinese subsidiary to Alibaba, and thus losing control, would have adverse effect on the quality of service? Shouldn't Yahoo provide technical solutions to go around this problem through proxies, VPN or other means for their PAYING CLIENTS?
Outgoing Server Yahoo SMTP details for Thunderbird 2.0.0.17? I know this works and i know you don't have to pay for it; otherwise they wouldn't have made this page. http://popfwd.mail.yahoo.com/pf/PopConfig?.intl=uk&.addr=&.bm= Now I set up Thunderbird with Webmail (Version: 1.3.2) and the Yahoo thing (Version 1.3.4) from http://webmail.mozdev.org/installation.html Everything is fine in terms of recieving mail but i cannot send at all. I either get the error "the server may be unavailable or is refusing smtp connections" or i just keep having to enter my password even after ticking the remember password box. Now what "Server Name" do I need. What "Port" do I need? and what type of "Secure connection" do I need? Thanks in advance. I'm in the UK so will any of those port numbers make a difference? Obviously the Server name will.
At&T/Yahoo SMTP - Can not send mail through my exchange server.? I am having some issues configuring my AT&T DSL to work with my Exchange Server. I have contacted A&T/Yahoo a few different times and have not received any type of solution, and so I am hoping someone here can help. Anyway to get to the point, we have a company that operates a few satellite offices that use AT&T for our internet needs. We have a variety of employees that visit the satellite offices a day or two of the week and then return to our main office. When they are at the satellite office we are unable to send any mail through our exchange server. Everywhere else we go everything works fine. The only way we can send mail when at the site we need to change the smtp settings to the one provided by Y! and then add them as a Sub-Account from our main address. This is very time consuming and a huge pain in the rear. AT&T support claims that they are not blocking anything, and I should be able to send mail without any issues, and blame our server for the problems. Then I walk accross the street to the coffee shop connect to the internet and just like magic can send mail. We also have a printer on site that has a scan to email function, and unfortunately will support SSL. So since I can not configure the printer at all it has become useless. I need to know if there is a way to be able to bypass the AT&T/Yahoo mail server, or if I am going to need to kick them and their service to the curb. Any help is greatly appreciated!
