How can I host a Ventrilo server using a Linksys wireless adapter? I have 2 computers in the whole house. A new Laptop is connected to the Linksys Router which is connected to the main router and my computer with a Linksys Wireless adapter. (theres also a range extender for a better signal.) I want to host a free Ventrilo Server for my friends but I can't do it with my computer since it uses a wireless internet connection. How can I Host a Ventrilo server (as well as hosting games) with a wireless internet connection?

What program can I use to route the default port from free ventrilo to something else? Hello Free version of ventrilo, not cracked or anything like that. It has max clients 8. That is fine, I will only use it for small stuff like talk to my mates. But you can not change the port number in the free version either. Thats my problem. I heard people are playing with programs like sockscap and such things to bypass firewalls and such to connect to games over another port. All I want is to change the default port of free ventrilo to something else (7120) and then be able to connect to ventrilo over that port. Anyone know what program I can use to change the port? Anyone know how to do so? I am already familiar with hosting ventrilo server, porting and such things. I have a VPS that only got the ports 7100 - 7199 assigned. OS: Windows server 2003 32bit I am not the hoster, it is a rented VPS. I have no access to their router. I am only assigned the ports 7100 - 7199. But I got remote access to the computer, and can install any program and such things as I want. Perhaps I can use a program to route ventrilos traffic from default to 7120 on my VPS before it even goes to the hoster router? 2 replies, but still havent figured it out! Tried that portforwarding program but in the end ventrilo server did not manage to even run.

How can I host a Ventrilo Server on my computer? I don't have any money to pay for online hosting, nor would I pay for it if I did, since this is just for me and a couple friends. I've downloaded the server application from Ventrilo, set the name, the admin password and the normal password. I've gone into Ventrilo and input my IP address as the Hostname/IP and the port as 3784, which the server documentation told me I was restricted to for the free license. However, once all the information including the password was set, Ventrilo just hands at 'Connecting to Server' and never actually connects. What can I do to get this up and running?

To host a server you have to run a .exe file application. What do I use a DNS server/host for? I just signed up for DynDNS and got my domain name free. Can someone hack me if they know my IP? I have a Ventrilo server (voice chat) and my ip is used for the host name. Thats how you get a free one. I opened the port 3784 on the url 192.168.1.1 and forwarded them so my friend can join my ventrilo server. When i go to whatismyip.com my ip there is my server name. So what will happen if i tell me my ip to voice chat with me? They know where i Live? And also will they be able to hack into my computer?

Free Ventrilo Server not working? I wanted to host my own ventrilo server (free version) So I downlaoded Vent and Ventsrv from the ventrilo site. I make a new server on my vent client and use my I.P. address in the Hostname/IP area and I leave 3784 as the port. I then click create and open the Ventsrv program but the Vent client still says contacting server.. And it wont do anything else. Im not sure what Im doing wrong, any suggestions? How do I forward the port to my router?
