How to turn Abyss Web server into proxy server? I downloaded and installed Abyss Web Server X1 and i have confirmed that it's running, but now i want to turn it into a proxy, and i was wondering how?

Abyss Web Server problem..? After I setup Abyss Web Server 1x on my computer with PHP 5 and all.. I try connecting to my IP from my computer, and it asks for my username and password that I have.. I enter those in, but it asks again.. like they were wrong. What is wrong here? I know how to check my router. I used to use one. Hi, I have been using Abyss Web Server for ages as my IIS7 server kept returning 'Service Unavailable' HTTP... ...error 503. I said it had happened since I had installed PHP and FastCGI. But, I have removed it now and the default pool keeps turning off, I have deleted and removed all my applications from the server and there is still an error, all applications pools deleted apart from the Classic and DefaultAppPool, the DefaultAppPool still keeps stopping though. The error keeps returning: Service Unavailable -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. And it gives me an ip and it runs under my ip.lets say my ip is 123.123.490.then the abyss web server will make another ip running through my ip.Does that mean that people(not using my internet access cannot access my website or so called web server? Can anyone tell me the difference between cgi and pl script? I have both in my abyss web server set up, only cgi works, but not .pl. any idea? I have perl.exe installed of course, or else my cgi wont work. and the path was set up on abyss web server. What's wrong with My Abyss / Ubuntu setup? In use: Abyss Web Server X1 Ubuntu 10.04 Issue: I've installed it very normally. Unpackaged Abyss into it's own folder. I designated /home/%username%/Programs/Server/(copied all contents of Abyss tar.gz here). I can get to http://127.0.0.1:9999/ without an issue. When I try to go to 127.0.0.1 - I get nothing when I try to go to 127.0.0.1:999/index.html I get nothing when I try any combination with any of the files that I have installed - it always yields abssolutely nothing. If it helps any - I'm getting a Listening Error on Port 80, so I'm forced to use port 8080. It should be added that, I have the root setup to point to the /server/htdocs folder. Where can I get templates for my directory? I have Abyss Web server. I host my music on my external IP, So I have the traditional "Index of/" directory. I'd like to change it to look better, so I need directory templates. HTML templates, with no php or other code. Help please!

I have used omnisecure and abyss in the past and like both, but both are lacking one feature I want. I want to be able to pull up a list of all current transfers, see what people are downloading, how fast the transfers are going, perhaps time remaining, etc, and ideally be able to terminate connections. Can anyone suggest a good software for me? Freeware would be great of course but not required. Thanks much!

Is there another option to phpmyadmin? I've not spent days installing and reinstalling, configuring and commenting, uncommenting, changing rearranging phpmyadmin on my abyss web server and still cannot get the error messages on index to go away and for my php to work out right on my server. How do I run a web server with 2 websites with different DNS names ? I have a webserver running: Abyss from aprelium.com and I have Dynamic DNS so for example something.dyndns.org points to my web server. Help with IIS 7 in Vista and ADODB connections? I just enabled IIS in vista and it is working fine with regular ASP scripts and pages, but it will give me an error when i try to create a connection to an access database. "An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator" Thats the error i get, even disabling the "Show friendly HTTP error messages" option in IE. The connection worked fine in the same computer but using Abyss web server... but dreamweaver wasn't too happy with it. So i have to use IIS. I took a look at the event log, and found the error.. then in the MS website, the solution is to enable some permissions with the machine debug manager service.. but i changed them to full access and still no go. Have you been able to make it work? Thanks.

how to set up my forum? Okay, so I got a domain from GoDaddy and I got Abyss Web Server X1. I put the phpbb files in my htdocs for Abyss Web server. And I got zone edit to redirect the domain to the abyss to the local host. I also requested to change the nameservers for the domain to the nameservers zone edit gave me. should i wait for the nameservers to change then set up my forum. am i doing sumthing wrong? should i cahnge something? or redo the steps? btw, when i type in my website it still says coming soon my domain is http://officialpspcenter.com btw somebody else told me to get SQL adminitrator and now i got that. what should i do with that?

Using php sessions? On my first page I have a form. it will ask for 3 pcs, of info. on page 2 I set 3 sessions from the form on page 1. PHP Problem ..? My PHP Scripts are not working properly without the <?PHP tag in the beggining, but most PHP scripts start with <? tag only. I am using the latest version of apache and php also. I was earlier using abyss and had the same problem, but i was able to resolve it buy making some changes in abyss web server using the admin panel. It was easy, but apache requires command knowledge, Somebody help. I am sure that theres no problem with the php script and the problem is with apache. I can't get Frames to work!? I am trying to make/write a webpage, and I can't get frames to work. if you care for details, I just learned html, xhtml, and css, and a decent understanding of Java. I am using Abyss Web Server to host, although I don't have a domain, and I think my page's are only accessible on my machine. and I am using Notepad to write everything I want to use frames to have a nice page Header, a side navigation, and content. How to host my webserver? So i downloaded Abyss Web Server i have it all set up and it is running on my localhost (127.0.0.1) but i want to make it public? I have No-IP and i am trying to use that but when i click the redirect port 80 it ask me for a port and it wont except the port 80 im using so i put in a different port lik 8000 and 8080 and it wont show it then. I can't seem to serve web pages on standard port 80? 4Mbit ntl connection. Modem directly connects to "Server" and using ICS for other machines on network. All machines are running Windows XP SP2 with no major problems. One other machine has Battlefield 2 installed and needs several ports forwarding as exceptions in Windows Firewall on the "Server" (one of which is Port 80). There are also exceptions for Abyss and also Apache here. However the Firewall and the ntl Netguard Firewall are disabled. I used to run Apache to serve web content (and several other types of web server software's in the past). I'm now running Abyss and they all seem to work fine and can be accessed externally. I have a dynamic ip but it is resolved to a dns which is: halucinagenic.cjb.net and have had no problems accessing this using other random ports such as http:/halucinagenic.cjb.net:8080 It serves fine. But when i try to run it at standard port 80 it refuses to serve. Some time ago it used to serve on that port. Hope theres enough info here

Ubuntu from dead Windows Vista installation? I have a computer modem / tower a HP Compaq Presario running a x86 processor. It died because I didn't have a license key for Windows Vista, so now I don't have a desktop IDE (integrated desktop (not development / data) enviroment). So I would like to know how I would install Ubuntu from the downloader, is it a boot image? If so how do I use it on a dead Operating System? Yes, I have discs (write-once) but not many DVDs, I know the file size is 700MB. I just need a Linux web server running Ubuntu Server Edition from download. I refuse to wait for disc and need installation ASAP (As Soon As Possible)! The installation package I want is Ubuntu server, LAMP should be available (by the way I hate Apache and will install Abyss for Linux over it), but I would like MySQL and PHP at hand (not ASP.NET, ASP.NET only works rarely on Kubuntu machines (personal experience). I liked the looks of Linux, it isn't like Windows it is kind of like what I need, but not the full ticket like Mac OS X and Windows (even though I have a Mac and Windows Vista machine already). Sorry if it is TOO much information, but I know it is a question and no problem from installation / download has been made yet, so before I install and download and no doubt end up with a problem, where can I get a Windows disc burner? Can you answer this question: Can Ubuntu boot from a DVD? I mean it stores more data. Can it also be a write-once burn as well? I have 2 DVDs available and 5 CDs, I do not wish to use them all. I have 0 DVD-RDLs. I just hope it works, after the machine is setup I will download Ubuntu under my 54MBPS connection via the router (original connection is 1,024MBPS and 100MB), so it should be fairly quick. Then I will need to burn it right? After that I will install Ubuntu from the burn, then what happens? I re-insert the disc and boot it as an installation at start-up, or does it go straight into it? It will be server edition with LAMP. Plus, I will use Abyss Web Server for Linux on it as it uses alot of programming languages. If Kubuntu works better, does it? As long as Kubuntu has PHP, MySQL (or I download it) and has compatibility for Abyss Web Server, this maybe the wrong forum, but I only want, what I need. Apache any good for ASP.NET? Im looking for a web server that is capable of running ASP.NET v1.1 and 2.0 web apps. On my Win XP 64-bit box i only have a scaled back IIS6. Im really after virtual hosting so that i can host multiple web sites from the server instead of this virtual directory nonsense. So far im eyeing Abyss X2 Pro v2.3+, the only working commercial solution i could find, but would like to find a free solution if possible. I've heard of Apache's ability to run ASP.NET. Abyss web server - Pages won't load at all? I try to load up the pages, I have all my files including my index.php in there, but it will not load. I configured it, added parameters so PHP could work, still, nothing.
