how to start and host a left for dead server using console commands? I am at a lan with a bunch of mates, and we want to create a versus host to play against each other. However, whenever we start a versus map only 4 people can play (more can spectate) and we have to play as survivors. How can I start a versus server that people can connect to from the console? Preferably not through a lobby. Left4dead, sorry =P Left4dead, sorry =P
I think dead people are trying to contact me through my server. I keep getting emails from a demon.? The messgage I'm getting emailed about 10 times in a row about once a day and about once per hour for a couple of hours each day is as follows: /etc/cron.hourly/sendmail: sendmail: illegal option -- q sendmail: usage: sendmail [ -t ] [ -fsender ] [ -Fname ] [ -bp ] [ -bs ] [ arg ... ] The message is from: Cron <root@mydomainname.com>run-parts/etc/cron.hourly Cron Daemon [root@mydomainname.com] So I've looked up what the options mean. But it still doesn't make sense why I'm getting these emails. My server has been running perfectly. I don't believe in spirits and ghosts. But I saw this movie called white noise one time where dead people try to contact you through electronic interference. Do you think it's possible that some kind of French of Dutch spirit demon name Cron is trying to contact me? (I think Dutch people say Daemon instead of Demon)

Miuchiz planet mion-- is the company or the virtual world's server dead? I got a miuchiz hand held device two years ago, and I could connect to planet mion, and everything. It was actually a lot of fun! But recently (feb 09), I can't connect at all, and when I try, the world browser will open and I'll see the character for about two seconds, and it closes out for some random reason. I contacted the company (on their website they promised a reply), but never got a response. And today I tried to download the software again, thinking they'd ironed out the problems. But I couldn't even download it! The download link on their website is gone. I have the most recent version on my handheld, etc. I know they got a lot of bad reviews because people had problems with handheld itself, but I had none. And I have four friends with Miuchiz that have the same problem. The real problem is with the company, I believe. Does anyone know what's going on with these guys????
How you lower ping when playing on oversea server? I am playing Left 4 Dead, and sometimes I would go on some oversea servers. However, my ping sometimes make people in the game to kick me out, so i am just asking for a way to lower the ping.
what more can i do when my server can't even pug icc25...? my guild is 10/12 10man icc but the people we invite are half brain dead. the server isn't very good as its an rp server. On top of all this i can't get any gear to drop for me... should i stick it out with the guild or find a new server whose raid progression is much higher?
Every time I make a lobby in Left 4 Dead 2, it goes to a local server? Even if I choose Official Dedicated, it goes to closest server to me it can find. I have 5 ping, and everyone else in the game leaves because they have 100 or so. I live in the US, but the people who play with me must live on the opposite coast or something. Can I make it go to an official server that isn't within 5 miles of me. I'd load last like I normally do in official servers, but at least people would stay in the game. I have to have my friend make a lobby or else I'll get a local one, I hate it. Someone help please.

What Minecraft mod could I use to extend death-time on my server? I want people who die to have to wait about 5-10 minutes before they respawn, but I can't seem to find any mods that do that for me. Please help me - World of Warcraft server question? Why is that all of the RPPVP servers are dead. I like pvp but I want one where people roleplay and everyone just talks to same on them. It's still all just immature children who say dumb crap like "haha your mom" so there are absolutely no genuine rp servers left? no place where the vast majority roleplays? whats wrong with the Dead Frontier MMO Forum ? I can't access the forum like I normally do. I got an internal server error (error code 500). How do people do a lot of damage on Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360)? I've been curious about this for weeks or even months now but always forgot to ask. So heres how it happend. I was playing on a Versus Mode Server and then I stole a Smoker Kill. The smoker (Twist Flame) tried kicking me from my OWN Server and then when we started out as humans in Stage 2 of "No Mercy" he shot me in the head and it did 50 Damage to my HP. (It looked like his UZI was in Auto-Burst.) This happened to one of my teammates too. Yesterday on Versus Mode Stage 4 of "No Mercy," Francis shot Zoey in the head with an Assault Rifle and it did 50 Damage to her too. (Same thing like Twist Flame, It looked like the Assault Rifle did an Auto Burst.) So is this Laag, a Glitch, or is there some way to shoot them with Auto- Burst? by fer, your answer doesn't even give me a clue about my question. It doesn't even answers the question lol..

What is with this horrible lag in Red Dead Redemption?!? I've been getting shot through cover and buildings in multiplayer. I shoot other people and they walk around buildings or through doorways and then die. I'll be shooting at some and then all of a sudden I'm dead even though I never saw them turn around. What the hell is with the servers for this game?!
So final word on the tipping etiquette? Food service people? Haha, sorry to beat a dead horse tonight guys, but in general, IS it better to leave cash instead of adding it to the credit card total? Do servers get more that way, either by not reporting the taxes or because of the percentage the restaurant takes out? What do you servers prefer? And if people don't tip you, does it make you do things to the food/car/whatever? Just wondering.

Left 4 Dead 2 Australian uncensored Servers? I got left 4 dead 2 and the censorship didn't really bother me but a friend really wants to have gore on so we did the 510 thing to uncensor the game but now there are no servers. If the game is run via steam then it seems to load the censored version and in the find game lobby it will say like 10 thousand people are playing left 4 dead 2. However if we run it via the exe we get a uncensored game but when we go to the find game lobby it will say like there are 30 people playing left 4 dead 2. Is there a way to get the gore and still have actual people to play with? Many thanks
Left 4 Dead Disgustingly high ping??[PC]? Ok, so this, is out of every imagination.I am a pc user and i experience the worst lag ever. When i play left 4 dead, my ping is ALWAYS higher than 600. This happens to every game mode, every server (dedicated, local, best available dedicated). When i make a game, set it on Local my ping is stable in 5. Other people will join, but they will have like 500 ping. I live in Greece and don't tell me it's my country that has a problem, because i know other people that live here too, we play on the same servers and im the only one who has more than 600 ping. My internet speed is 700kbps/per sec for download and 150kbps/per sec for upload. My system specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz Ram 4 GB Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS(DirectX 10) I don't think there is a problem with my pc as it runs every single game i've ever installed. All stuff like firewall, router settings, steam settings are correct.I've tried to make a static ip address then port forward left 4 dead and it didn't work.I've put commands in the console like rate, cl_cmdrate (or whatever) and stuff like that and it didn't work either. To connect to the internet i use an ethernet cable. Should i also mention that this happens with left 4 dead 2 too.I CAN find a lot of games, people CAN join my server(but they leave coz of their pings). I also own a Xbox 360, also connected with ethernet cable and i can say that in every game i have good ping(MW2, Black Ops, Homefront, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor, etc) exept left 4 dead 2. In that game, even on Xbox 360, i will have medium to bad ping (2 orange bars-1 red bar).However it's better than playing on pc. Actually i don't play. I shoot or jump and that hapens after 2-3 seconds. I haven't found a solution yet, so if you know anything please help. My router is a Net Faster IAD 2. I'd also like to say that whenever i play, i close all the downloading programs like uTorrent or Jdownloader. I need help immediately. My internet provider is HOL (Hellas Online) which most people use in my country. Should i call them? What should i tell them? Please help. (Counter Strike Source) Who Can See Spectator Chat? So, imagine your most basic server being hosted, where the admin hasn't really touched anything besides maybe added a few quake sounds. I'm wondering as a spectator, when I write, who all can see my text? Is it solely dead people, or the alive ones as well. Also, for anyone wondering who may stumble across this, spectators can typically not see team chat (dead or alive).

How to better populate my cod4 server.? I just recently started renting a Call of Duty 4 Server from gameservers.com and so far I'm very happy with everything. We have a 16 man SnD server on the west coast (LA). We are just having a lot of trouble populating the server. The most we have ever been able to get is a total of 10 players, but 90% of the time while I'm at work etc it's completely dead. And when I am on, I'm usually running around by myself bored as hell and waiting for people to join. Our server is viewable in the in-game browser and usually appears rather quickly. I'm not sure what steps I should take to get people to play in my server and get them to keep coming back. Thanks.
Left for Dead 2 is super laggy? I have left for dead 2 for xbox 360 and i suffer from terrible lag. The weird thing is that it only lags when im playing versus or any other game mode with 8 people. I did notice however that as people leave the game my connection gets better, but i dont see how people leaving would effect me. I can play survival perfectly with no lag and the same goes for campaign (Being that only 4 people are needed). Im really getting annoyed with it because the lag is so bad to the point where my screen freezes then goes to another frame in like 10 seconds and freezes again. It occasionally even disconnects me from xbox live. Its really weird because i look at everyone elses connection and no one else has red bar besides me. I know i have a really bad connection but i can play black ops perfectly no lag. And thats with 10+ people. I assume its because Left for dead has dedicated servers whereas black ops makes players host it. But then again im not sure. It just sucks because my only choices for online are survival and campaign. If anyone has any idea as to whats going on or an idea on how to fix it i would greatly appreciate it

WoW paid character transfer; how long does it take to move? I'm thinking of moving away from Scilla-Horde; the community seems dead. Rumors about server in halo 2 matchmaking.? I heard a rumor about something going wrong with a server for halo 2 matchmaking and that now some people cant play matchmaking, about the same time my halo 2 matchmaking stopped working. I have done some test and determined it is not my xbox, internet, and that I have not cheated. I have called xbox support 3 times and they think it has something to do with a server. Dead Island on Steam stop installing.? I just got Dead Island, the game has been downloaded for over 2 hours now and it stop at 6736.6mb/6737.2mb and it shown as suspended. I'm 0.6 mb away from the game completing, does anyone know why it stop there? Is it the downloading server is slow? This is my 5th attempt to have it download and for the last 4 time it stop at the same location. Is there a way I could make it not suspended? Any e-mail I can contact steam people? Thanks :)
Anybody using Smarty Uninstaller?? Over two months ago I purchased, Smarty Uninstaller from http://www.winnertweak.com/contact.html and I never received my registration key. I have traced them through my Smart Whois software. Made telephone calls, sent fax, and hundreds of emails and not one response. Lost the ongoing battle with my credit card and in the end I had to pay the charges. (My credit card company was unable to track anybody down in this company). The software is excellent technology as it removed traces of software I had removed one year ago and my antivirus was still scanning. This is the only add/remove program I found that not only removes the software put searches your entire pc for any trace fragments and removes. I feel like this company is run by dead people, or they have an un-attended server with no support staff. Any ideas please, that are new and not what I have already done. Minddoctor, Paris, France
Old laptop into home gaming server? Two things. First things first, I took the HD out of a broken computer I own and put it into another computer with a dead HD. Windows won't activate. I'm missing the activation key on both computers, it's rubbed off of the working one, and the other laptop is long gone. Ideas? For the second and most important thing.... I have this laptop I want to turn into a dedicated gaming server for our home network. Primarily just for minecraft. We've got 5 people playing minecraft here and it's too much for the computer I'm using to handle. So, what would I do to make this possible? I want it to host the server and addons. It's powerful enough to do it easily. Do I just install a linux based system? Do I make windows 7 function and install something on it? I'm not sure what to do first, so some guidance would be appreciated.
help with myspace? not woking says server not found? The day before yesterday everything worked, I have not changed anything on my computer and now when I try to go to myspace it does'nt work. Why has Left 4 Dead changed? I remember a while back I was able to join games really easily and when i created a lobby it would have people joining it rather quickly ready to play and it would be really fun speaking to everyone cracking jokes about killing the zombies, but now when i try to play i can never find a dedicated server anymore and when i quick join games it takes quite a while to find one and when i get in one i have lots of ping so i rarely ever get kills i am really confused on why it has changed there are now like "group" server things on the main page that scroll through servers but i don't know how to work them or what they even do i miss the old L4D where i could just start a game and complete challenges with friends easily whats happened to it now? My hardware is not the problem as it is the same hardware/internet speed i have always used to play left 4 dead and all my drivers are up to date. I miss the old L4D </3, its been like this for a while now (few months) whats happened??? Thanks in advance for any help and or advice. I live in Australia if that makes a difference?

Red dead redemption empty multiplayer? I preordered red dead redemption and i'm loving the single player so i gave a shot at multiplayer. every gameplay video i've seen, the free roam is packed and every team game is 8 on 8. when i started up though, the most people i've seen in free roam was 7 and the biggest game i had was 5 on 5. is this a connection problem? can you join full 8 on 8 games or are servers just down? i'd love any feedback, thanks. add me on psn if you'd like to posse up: OrOeO

Why can't I play online multiplayer on Red Dead Redemption? I understand that a few months ago there were server problems and a lot of people weren't able to join multiplayer, and if they were it would take forever to join. So I put down the game for a few months and decided to get back on last night, for some reason the problem is still happening for me, but not anyone else. Whenever I try to get on it just brings up the message "Alert: You were removed from your session and returned to Free Roam due to connection issues with other players. " It's pretty unfortunate, can anyone help me? Thanks for the answer. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that my NAT type is Open.
Is Freedom of Speech DEAD on Yahoo News Message Boards? I'm just asking. It seems only *trolls* are allowed to post to these boards any more, them and their political 'bots. The minute I try to make a comment it gets censored because the system REFUSES to find the server, then deletes my attempted post on hitting the back button. Red Dead Redemption PS3 Free Roam? is it me or when i join Free Roam on the ps3 i cant find anyone at all. I kept on trying to join new Free Roam's but no-one at all. I can only play private games with a friend which is very fun because its only 1 person and not 15 other people. Is this because of their servers or just me?

Ok i seen the cheats people told me to us, go to options enable user control panel or whatever, so i type and quote " sv_cheats 1" ok at the main menu its fine but............ in game all i want is infi ammo, when i get in game pull the control panel up it says when i put " sv_cheats 1" in it says to go to main menu and start a own listen server, what is that is that online i hate playing online cause people ether rush the game or die fast, but if u can help me out be grea8!!!!!!!!!! yes i did all that read lol??? thanx anyway thow i have googled till i cant google no more lol, they all say the same thing i know i am doing it right, telling me to go back to main menu and start a listen only server wtf ????
I can't join games online in left 4 dead PC version!!!? I can't join games online!!! I can host games and people can play with me but I cannot join them. port forwarding didn’t help/work I join at the lobby and it doesn’t load; says error of connection failed after 10 retries and boots me from loading screen. Even worse, then when I host games the screen loads with their names but when it finishes loading the AI is in their place, as if it booted them when I hosted. I reinstalled the game and last night I was able to host a game, but I still can't join. I may have joined 1-3 games at first the first time I installed it but now it won't work and I’m afraid I won't be able to host again either after so many tries or after so much time. If it's possible I port forwarded wrong I don’t know how because I followed all the instructions and I tried to set a static IP but it says the ports aren’t open... but maybe the port forwarding isn’t the problem. if it is can you please tell me how to do it right? I did buy the game legally at game stop but I couldn‘t find any useful information on forums. Everyone always asks if it's pirated, well once again it's not. And if it's a problem with the connection, what is it and how do I fix it? My firewall is off, if that matters... I can host them because even though it can't find a dedicated server, if I switch to local game it works. If I try to join a game, I can come to lobby but at loading screen after a long time it says it failed to connect after 10 retries or something similar. WHy do people say PSN is better than XBL? Honestly, I have both and XBL is clearly better. People have been saying that PSN is better because you can text in game and get and receive emails. Well, I haven't seen anyway to email my friends on yahoo mail from my PS3, and not only can 360 gamers send messages in game (as they have been able to since day one) they can also sign in to windows Live messenger. Another thing people say, is that it is free, well I say who cares. If you can't afford to pay 50 dollars a year then your dead broke, and it is nothing to complain about, that's less than the cost of buying one new game a year. You get so much more from XBL you get great gamerzones great matchmaking, and a fantastic community experience that the PS3 simply does not offer. The last thing I want to touch on is downloadable content. When downloading demos on the PS3 if you run the download in the background then you can't play games or the download will stop, and on top of that once it's done you have to install it. On Xbox 360 you just select to download it and boom, it's playable. Qore (I think that's how you spell it) is cheap, but does is a bit annoying when you have to pay for every single video, on top of having to download it. On XBL, the Inside Xbox videos are free and are streamed from the XBL servers so it does not take up harddrive space. Just a last quick note is that Xbox LIVE has made one of the worlds first console RPGs that can has online multiplayer (Fable 2), and will soon release the worlds first MMOFPS (Huxley). SO now that you know all that, why would people still say that PSN is better?
How do you fix a dns server problem with laptop? Okay... I know a lot of people will probably be mean about this. I "steal internet" from my neighbors through their wifi internet connection. My mother won't buy internet and I do feel bad for leeching, but when you're at a dead end, there's nothing more you could do. Recently, I just bought a new laptop. I tried to connect to "linksys". It says that I'm connected with the network and everything, I'm just not connected to the internet. When I tried the Windows Diagonsis thing, it says there's something wrong with the dns configuration. Can anyone give me a few pointers?
Iam in seruious trouble about my cellphone and family, Plz experienced people help me out......? Iam using Airtel postpaid card from last month. I help my dad in electronics business and I was forbided to use it for more then Rs.700. Now the weird thing is that due to some server updation problem from Airtel, my unbilled amount decreased and increased sumtimes and I had complained about it twice, but there was no proper response from Airtel. Then sudenly my unbilled amount increased to Rs. 878.24 and I was shit scared. I again contacted Airtel, they asked for 5 days time. After 1 day only, the total amount inc. to 1008, crossing my Credit Limit. I had been downloading sum hot stuff from Airtel Live, and my dads gonna ask for bill details and if that usage is shown I'll be dead. Also I used it to SMS my gf and if her no. is revealed , My A** will be on fire. ME AND MY FATHER ARE NOT IN SWEET RELATIONSHIP GENERALLY. Due to Airtel , my life will be ruined and my father will not consider updation problem at all. He will kick my *** off and My expenses will be ungranted. Wat to do? Its not about paying the bill but to save a relationship on fire to end badly. I admitt the total usage upto Rs.800, and not more. I can swear abut it. Is alienware Aurora able to host servers well? So I want to try hosting a server on my Alienware Aurora desktop... I'll list it's current specs.. I also have a 1000MBit line waiting if it's worthy. 24GB Ram DDR3 (Upgraded) 3.6GHz Overclocked Intel Core i7 2TB Hard Drive @ 7200RPM So those are the specs that I need to worry about.. Battlefield 2142!!!!!!!!!? Alrighty.... so now I have a problem with Battlefield 2142. It won't let me log on to it's "EA Master Server". I've been reading forums up and down for the past 4 hours. Yeah. 4. NOTHING has worked, and a lot of people seem to have the same problem, since 2006 no less!!!!! Is the damn server dead? Is there anything special I have to do to actually log in?? Hundreds of emails, hours of chat about politics, life, ourselves, sexy chat, but not much, days of gaming at this point. He always games only when I do. Bad Luck or Curse By God? Last night I woke up a 5am thinking that the owner of my favorite server was dead. It added up, he is never on Hamachi, he left without notice, but 3 other conclusions came into my head: He disowned the server. He can't get on due to school. Nexon sued him. I want to PM him, but that wouldn't work. I tried Google some of the said possible situations. That morning, I woke up with a horrible stomachache. I had to stay home. I'm hearing all these strange noises (cat on counter, people screaming) but I can't find any evidence that I'm not insane. Any back up, any thoughts on why God cursed me? P.S.: I asked God if I could speak to him in one of my dreams, but that never happened, did that piss Him off?
How do I make some quick Gil on ffxi? New to the game. My character is a lvl 21 Thief (galka) on the Bismarck server, and he is pretty much broke. Less than 10,000 Gil left. I tried farming wild onions in ranperres tomb from all goblins, but I only got 1, and now all of the sudden people are farming there again (my server was pretty much dead last week). My armor won't sell, neither will rare stuff like armigers lace which goes for 10,000-15,000 on bastok AH, and for some reason my materials/crafting stuff sells last (10+ stacks copper ingots sell in a day... Mine are still sitting there, same price as others).
Why won't steam work? I just wanna play my Left 4 Dead 2 but steam keeps telling me "steam has found a problem with your local game files. game files will now be re-acquired from the steam servers" People told me to defragment it and when I do it says it failed to cus theres too much of something. Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Online Issues? Hey guys, I got the ps3 for xmas with the COD 4 game. It is awesome, anyway recently it's online capability has been giving me some issues- Mid-day say around 1pm-4pm It works online every time I go to switch to a new server it loads with people. After 4pm or late at night its like a dead spot with no one playing, you just sit at the screen waiting for it to find a game to join. Anyone else having these issues? It is not my connection because I can access the web and everything when this happens.
How should I notify management I'm quitting a job that earns me less than minimum wage? Info about the job: - I started the job only one month ago. - It is a restaurant server job. Like any serving job, we get paid the standard serving rate in my state of $2.83/hr + tips. - The place is very dead and on many shifts my $2.83/hr payrate + tips does not add up to minimum wage($7.25/hr in my state), or it adds up to only slightly more. E.g., working a 10hr shift and only walking out with $40 in tips. - I'm in my late 20s and have a lot of bills to pay, including gas + car maintenance to drive 40-60mins roundtrip to work there each shift. I work 4days/week and haven't been making enough money to pay my monthly bills. I fear that my 760 credit score will be going in the toilet soon the way it did a number of yrs ago when I was likewise not making a solid income + at the same time period was a victim of a large financial theft. - Because I'm an adult and have tried very hard in life thus far, I am also very embarassed and ashamed to be making such little money. I earned my B.A. 5 yrs ago, am currently in grad school trying to pursue a new career(my last one got destroyed with the recession), and have a lot of prior server experience. - Other than the low pay, there are a few other problems with this restaurant, some I wrote about before on this site: * Other servers frequently not showing up for their shifts, resulting in management asking me to stay late or me feeling obliged to stay late and cover for them despite the place being devoid of business(I'm a pushover and I hate that about myself). * This 18-yr-old girl makes fun of me to other employees and one time when I tried to be assertive and stand up for myself to her, she started a huge verbal fight with me and threatened to physically assault me. * I am the type of person who likes to stay busy, so it is incredibly boring and mind-numbing to work a dead shift where I'm constantly searching for more "busy work" to do to keep from falling asleep. - One of the only plusses is that management has been very nice, with the exception of one time the manager snapped at me for something on a day that we were all under considerable work stress resulting from literally no other servers showing up to work that day(not that we *needed* the other servers since it was dead anyway, but it still put management in a bind though). - I already got hired at two new jobs: one at a store that pays a reliable hourly rate several dollars above min wage, another at a busy chain restaurant. - Because I've only been there a month, I did not put this job on my other job apps and do not plan to in the future either. I have other serving experience I can use for restaurant apps. Also, I am not putting any serving jobs on my resume for the new career path I'm pursuing in grad school(b/c they're irrelevant to the career field). - I worry that giving standard 2week notice will delay the time I can start making better money, which I need to pay bills that very recently became pastdue since I didn't make the money this month to pay them(and as for savings, well I wiped thru all my savings trying to pay for grad school without any loans). - However, I'd feel guilty quitting without notice, since I feel sorry for management. I'm that type of person that worries about being nice enough to people. What is the best thing to do in this situation? Chuckles -- Good points. How can I mount a SNAP Server 1100 hard drive to retrieve the data on it? After a lightning storm my SNAP 1100 seemed completely dead. However, after I did a reset it came back to life... sort of. All the files appear to be fine but it's very slow, I download from it at 5.5kbps. I believe the HDD is fine, so I pulled it out and tried to mount it to a Linux box but Ubuntu won't mount it. I can host games on a local server and people can play with me and I can join the rare and random local server game. However, if I try to host on a dedicated server, it says that it cannot find it and it will not work. If I try to join a dedicated server, it says error connection failed after 10 retries. port forwarding didn’t help/work; I join at the lobby and it doesn’t load (unless it’s a local server but I don‘t know how to find them); the bar doesn’t move; it still says error of connection failed after 10 retries and boots me from loading screen. (Though I heard port forwarding is only for hosting not joining, though I can’t host it either as I said earlier, more on port forwarding later, like right now in the next sentence.) It [port forwarding] also didn’t help me host on a/the dedicated server either, but I swear I followed all the steps to the letter, maybe port forwarding isn’t the problem, maybe I did it wrong, it didn’t work for far cry 2 either because I could join games but I couldn’t host and I used simple port forwarding with preset ports for the game I got from the list; still nothing. I reinstalled the game [left 4 dead] 2-3 times already. If it's possible I port forwarded wrong I don’t know how because I followed all the instructions on the port forward.com router (LINKSYS BEFSX41) guide step by step and I tried to set a static IP but it says the ports aren’t open... but maybe the port forwarding isn’t the problem. if it is can you please tell me how to do it right? I made a new character a few days ago on a highly populated server, but now a few days later the population has dropped to medium. My question is, is this bad luck, or is there a way to spot a server that will stay highly populated, with an auction house with many items, and many players? Or can anyone recommend a server that seems to stay heavily populated?
World of Warcraft official server sign-up question? Alright, so my computer is now dead and now I am asking this question using a stupid computer, so I can't access the WoW site to answer my question. 2 days ago ( in the day my computer broke down ) I bought a WoW Game Card. Yet, I don't have the original WoW, TBC, or WoTLK. I heard from different sources that I need the Original games to create an account. Is that true ?

Ubuntu from dead Windows Vista installation? I have a computer modem / tower a HP Compaq Presario running a x86 processor. It died because I didn't have a license key for Windows Vista, so now I don't have a desktop IDE (integrated desktop (not development / data) enviroment). So I would like to know how I would install Ubuntu from the downloader, is it a boot image? If so how do I use it on a dead Operating System? Yes, I have discs (write-once) but not many DVDs, I know the file size is 700MB. I just need a Linux web server running Ubuntu Server Edition from download. I refuse to wait for disc and need installation ASAP (As Soon As Possible)! The installation package I want is Ubuntu server, LAMP should be available (by the way I hate Apache and will install Abyss for Linux over it), but I would like MySQL and PHP at hand (not ASP.NET, ASP.NET only works rarely on Kubuntu machines (personal experience). I liked the looks of Linux, it isn't like Windows it is kind of like what I need, but not the full ticket like Mac OS X and Windows (even though I have a Mac and Windows Vista machine already). Sorry if it is TOO much information, but I know it is a question and no problem from installation / download has been made yet, so before I install and download and no doubt end up with a problem, where can I get a Windows disc burner? By the way, what is LaunchPad? I'll rephrase that, I want to download Ubuntu, but Windows Vista is in a limited state as it has not be registered with a license key, which was never purchased. So I do not have a desktop but I do have application access, like Windows Help, Explorer, Installer, etc. Tommorow I am going to get it the box setup, turn it on, etc. Then I will download a ISO file to disc image burner (700MB). Can you answer this question: Can Ubuntu boot from a DVD? I mean it stores more data. Can it also be a write-once burn as well? I have 2 DVDs available and 5 CDs, I do not wish to use them all. I have 0 DVD-RDLs. I just hope it works, after the machine is setup I will download Ubuntu under my 54MBPS connection via the router (original connection is 1,024MBPS and 100MB), so it should be fairly quick. Then I will need to burn it right? After that I will install Ubuntu from the burn, then what happens? I re-insert the disc and boot it as an installation at start-up, or does it go straight into it? It will be server edition with LAMP. Plus, I will use Abyss Web Server for Linux on it as it uses alot of programming languages. If Kubuntu works better, does it? As long as Kubuntu has PHP, MySQL (or I download it) and has compatibility for Abyss Web Server, this maybe the wrong forum, but I only want, what I need. Should computer service companies clean out dead accounts that the customers closed? Would you sign a petition that makes your Internet Service Provider and Your Domain Name Host, and your Computer Server Companies clean out their Hosting machines and also the free web service companies machines of old dead closed domain name accounts and E Mail accounts? .....I closed an account with a Free Web Page and E Mail Service provided by one of the major telephone companies that has been a U. S. A. telephone and long distance service for as long as I can remember. .....They changed their contract in 2005 which informed me that after 90 days the account would be erased. .....I surf to their site with my new computer in 2006, a year later. Just to see if it was erased. I entered the user name & password, without signing up again, and everything was still as I had left it. .....Do Contracts which do not fulfill the entire agreement cancel the contract owners/backers rights?

Firewall on Windows 2003 Server? I have just installed Windows 2003 server I cannot Ping the server from a client or the exchange server. I beleieve its to do with Windows Firewall doing something. I have update from the interent when it was ok restarted it and now its dead. I have tried Stopping RRAS service but nothing. Critical server could crash and boss ignores it? Our server is critical, if it goes down we are dead in the water. Our server's power supply has Active PFC and we are running a simulated sine wave UPS with it, which is not compatible with the power supply and may even possible damage the PSU. We have had two programs corrupt themselves too the point where we had to reinstall them too. Also, according to my A+ hardware book, the server was experiencing symptoms of bad power such as random glitches, random memory errors, lock ups, and data corruption. Also, our CD burner drive got damaged somehow and now it cannot burn CDs. Also, our server now makes clicking noises which sound as if they are coming from the hard drive or middle of the computer. This clicking noise happens more and more often. I told my boss but he ignored what I said. I suspect that the PSU is damaging the computer's internal parts. My boss says nothing is wrong with the server and he ignores me when I explain the problem. How long does our server have to live? The boss is the CEO! Also, this is a small business. Just some more detail on the UPS, it is line-interactive and sometimes it runs off the battery to regulate the voltage. The UPS also makes a buzzing noise while on battery which is coming from the PSU. Read this faq from a power supply manufacturer on active pfc and ups: http://www.enermax.com.tw/english/service_faq.asp it states that the two types of power supplies are not compatible. If you google this subject some people claim that it does damage.

How can I figure out what my POP3 and SMTP servers are for my inbox? My Microsoft Outlook Inbox has been dead for a while. I'm trying to set up my old account by restarting everything. I get to where I can choose types of email accounts and I click on POP3 server (what I had before). Then it asks for Incoming Mail Server (POP3) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). MGO server issues? Ok today i went into MGO made the ids,character etc. That all worked fine with no connection problems. Although the second i tried to join a tutorial or match my connection went dead and i got the message "couldn't connect to server" or something like that followed by alot of numbers, 0983 0000 i think it was.
