How do i make Active Server Pages (ASP/ASPX) compatible with all browsers? I mainage a website for my boyscout troop and the Password Protection utility requirers the use of active server pages. The problem is that we can't veiw these pages useing any browser besides IE7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I manage the site useing Microsoft Expression, but the other people who help with the site use Visual studio Web Developer 2008. If that helps any, thanks again.

I've recently read on the Web that ISS software isn't available on all Microsoft, Windows OS to run ASP code? Is this true? If i'm looking to use ASP within my Website, how can i be sure that my visitors browser can handle the code using IIS. This also seems a little restrictive if companies and designers use ASP within their pages and trying to attract visitors to their site who use Linux & Mac. This is Windows software isn't it? Need some help with Active server pages? Hi all. I've just finished a part time College course learning basic Web Design using DWCS3 and studying HTML, CSS & JS. I'm also looking further into CSS with DW and using the code. I'm really pleased with what i've learnt so far and decided that i would sign up for another part time college course studying ASP. I assumed that it would be great to further my understanding of this industry but,... OH MY GOD! What have i let myself in for? My brain is totally frazzled! I'm into the second 2 hour lesson now, covering the code behind ASP & i cannot get to grips with whats going on! I haven't a clue what my Tutor is trying to tell me... i mean, what are Variables, Server variables, what does DIM mean? What's this... (strItem)? What are record sets and DSN's? I'm really angry with myself that i've failed to even understand the Basics at the beginning of the course, and the Tutor has told me that after 11 weeks, things will get harder because we'll have to create our own code because DW can only handle so much! Does anyone have any advice they can offer that will quash my FEARS? Is this a severley difficult subject to learn? Am i wasting my time? Am i just thick? How can i best approach this at a different angle so as to make things easier for myself? I'm gonna headbutt the wall several times! Help! But by God, i've paid for this course. Can I use conventional ASP pages with Sharepoint 3.0? I have a client that's running Sharepoint 3.0. They're interested in a project that will require me to program some Active Server Pages to interact with a SQL Server database. What does "exceed script time limit" mean? While trying to submit information to a website, transitioning from the submission page to the entry page, I keep getting this message: Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113' Script timed out /authors/submission.asp The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools. Anyone know what this might mean? Anyone have a good MineCraft Multiplayer Survival Server? Preferably a 24/7 server, really active, and a page with a rules list. Preferably realistic rules, also I enjoy cursing so a place that allows that. I just bought the beta today and watched a ton of videos and now i feel like playing with a bunch of other players. Help with Active Directory in Windows Server 2003 R2? hi i have this issue on my network. the computers can all connect to the domain except sometimes it will say the roaming account is unavailable and they have to force restart and try again. also when they go to change their password it will free for a few minutes and then say the domain is unavailable. i was wondering how i could get the server to page across the network continuously to help fix this problem. thanks in advance
WHERE IS MY DHCP SERVER ACTIVE IP TABLE?? This is probably one of the dumbest questions one can ask. Nobody else has asked it and i'm assuming im the only idiot who doesn't know it. But i have a huge issue. Where is the darn DHCP server active ip table on my laptop? (using Vista)? I purchased a Cisco AP router (AIR-LAP-1242AG-A-K9 and if you're asking why i bought such an expensive router, i'm curently in iraq and i purchased a satellite dish so we can have internet in our hooches, it's the only means for communication around here) and in order to configure it i have to link to it and talk to it i guess u would say. Im really new at networking and by new i mean 2 months ago i had no idea what the diference is between a router and a modem, or what IP means. So i went and searched Cisco's help pages for an answer on how to do it. Some Cisco guru named David Davis has an easy step by step post on how to link up with the AP and change parameters. All the steps are followed by pics, any 1st grader can follow. Steps 2 through 1000 are super easy for me as well, but step 1 got me looking like an idiot. The guy says : i went to my DHCP server and found the IP for the AP.................... WHERE THE HECK IS THAT DHCP SERVER??? and it shows a pic of his internet explorer showing an active IP table, and the name of the internet explorer tab says "DHCP server active IP table" then he says: point your browser at that IP address and you're in. ......................... NOT!!! I tried pointing my browser to a few default IP addresses cisco routers use but i get the same error, internet explorer cannot connect to the specified site blah blah blah....... can anyone please help this new bee????? i have a bunch of angry guys waiting for me to set up the internet and i can't even "talk " to my router to Anonymus A: the comand prompt is a great idea. I will definitely try it as soon as i get back to the hooch. I tried it on this work computer and it shows quite a few active connections. And to answer ur questions, i pluged a CAT 5 cable from my laptop to the router. When i power up the router windows automatically does the connect thing and within a few minutes it shows in network settings that the network i connected top is unidentified. Any ideas? I guess as soon as i find what IP address the DHCP gave the router i can connect to it either by doing the browser thing or by using a terminal emulator. I downloaded Putty and i'm going to try that, since Vista doesn't come with HyperTerminal anymore. Thank you for the help so far.

What is ASP? I've been looking around for a definition but I still have a few questions. Everything I see says that Active Server Pages include stuff programmed in Jscript and VB, etc. How is that different from just using the <script> tag in a plain HTML document? A domain controller for the domain XXX could not be contacted? I’m trying to setup a server based network. I have installed Active Directory on Windows 2003 with the help of some web pages. And I have connected server and clients on a hub. But when I setup domain on client, “A domain controller for the domain test.myserver could not be contacted.” What is the problem on my client/Server?
I keep getting these error messages on FIREFOX when i go to a page or even on startup... Server not found?? I want to run ASP (Active Server Pages) programs on my computer but I cannot so I was told to install IIS (Internet Information Sevice). So I tried to do it according to the following instructions provided to me :- "Insert the Windows XP Professional CD-Rom into your CD-Rom Drive From your Start Button, go to Settings, and Control Panel In the Control Panel window select Add/Remove Programs In the Add/Remove window select Add/Remove Windows Components In the Wizard window check Internet Information Services, click OK An Inetpub folder will be created on your harddrive Open the Inetpub folder, and find a folder named wwwroot Create a new folder, like "MyWeb", under wwwroot.
